Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Studien zur Entwicklung des Paläoklimas in der Erdgeschichte.  Mit Hilfe von isotopengeochemischen Analysen wird versucht, Zusammenhänge zwischen Änderungen im globalen Kohlenstoffkreislauf und klimatischen Änderungen zu  rekonstruieren. Derzeitige Projekte umfassen Studien im Paläozoikum, Mesozoikum und Känozoikum.
